The feature film, “Unplanned,” was released in theaters across the nation and in Alaska. It provides an inside view of what happens in Planned Parenthood abortion clinics across America.
The movie was among the top five films in the country last week and is now showing in 1,700 theaters around the country including in Anchorage, Wasilla and Fairbanks.
According to the film’s website the movie deals with “one of the most polarizing topics of our day.” It recounts the life of abortion clinic manager Abby Johnson and how she underwent a change of heart regarding the life and value of the unborn.
The film surpassed its pre-release projections, and was the nation’s number-five movie at the box office on opening weekend. It took in $6.1 while only showing in 1,059 locations. The movie has a 94% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes
“No matter which side of the fence you’re on, no one will leave this film unmoved by Abby’s journey,” states unplannedfilm.com.
