Alaskan seminarian Jake Brownlee has traveled halfway around the world this year as he prepares to become a priest for the Archdiocese of Anchorage. This summer, however, he’s looking forward to enjoying the Alaska outdoors at St. Therese’s Catholic Camp in Wasilla.
St. Elizabeth Ann Seton School in South Anchorage will be offering a full-time pre-kindergarten program beginning this fall.
In just three years the Anchorage parish’s outreach has grown from a struggling young adult ministry with only a handful of participants into a lively community of approximately 130 people.
FOCUS missionaries, David and Linda Hickson, who have spent years evangelizing young adults on college campuses, will be in Anchorage for a mission that is open to attendees from across the archdiocese. They will draw on mission field experience to inspire Alaskans to grow in faith and share it with others.

As reported by prnewswire.com, a Knights of Columbus-sponsored poll discovered that more than half of all Americans plan to attend church on Easter (53 percent). Among Catholics, the number rises to 73 percent, and for practicing Catholics, 95 percent.
The Anchorage Archdiocese will welcome 68 new Catholics into full communion with the church at the Easter Vigil liturgy on the evening of March 31. More than 30,000 others around the nation will join these.
