Funeral Mass for Deacon Jim Hostman Feb. 8
St. Andrew Church in Eagle River will hold a funeral Mass for one of their former clergy, Deacon Jim Hostman. Deacon Hostman died on March 27, 2017, at the age of 74. He had retired and was living in Salem, Oregon, at the time of his death.
Fr. Moore remembered for ‘extraordinary’ life, ministry
“I’m pleased I had the opportunity to express to him the deep and sincere appreciation of the entire archdiocese for his extraordinary life and ministry,” Archbishop Etienne said. “We celebrated the sacraments of reconciliation and anointing of the sick, and prayed together for his speedy journey home.”
Holy Rosary Academy principal to step down this summer
Catherine Neumayr, a long-time fixture at Holy Rosary Academy in Anchorage, will step down as principal of the K-12 independent Catholic school in July to care for her aging parents in California.

Holy Rosary wrestler wins his third state championship title
Michael Lucas has defeated hundreds of young wrestlers on his way to winning three Alaska State Championships, including his most recent one last month. The Holy Rosary Academy senior compiled a four-year record of 161 wins and 10 losses.
