Father Ben Cameron, a member of the Fathers of Mercy, will be at St. Benedict Church in Anchorage later this month to lead a week-long retreat which is open to the public.
Father Cameron joined the Fathers of Mercy in 1992, studied theology at Holy Apostles Seminary in Cromwell, Conn., and was ordained to the priesthood in 1997. He has served as vocation director and parish mission preacher during his priesthood. He currently serves as assistant general of the Fathers of Mercy and director of its Mission Band. He also serves as the spiritual director of the Confraternity of Our Lady of Mercy, a new confraternity for women and men, once wounded by abortion, but now seeking holiness.
At the upcoming Anchorage mission, attendees will gather each night at the parish for a series of talks by Father Cameron looking at how one’s Christian life can be transformed by the developments of virtues.
Each night, after the mission talks, attendees are invited to an Oktoberfest meal and social in the church basement. Father Cameron will also hear confessions after the mission talk each night. Babysitting will be provided.
