Juneau priest hospitalized in California

Father Thomas Weise, a Catholic priest of the Diocese of Juneau, remains hospitalized in San Luis Obispo, California following a life-threatening cardiac event that he suffered on Nov. 25 while visiting family. The 46-year-old Father Weise was ordained a priest for the Juneau Diocese in 2002.

According to a notice by the Juneau Diocese, Father Weise is currently pastor of St. Rose of Lima Church in Wrangell and St. Catherine of Siena Church in Petersburg.

The diocese reports that he “remains in stable but critical condition.”

As new information about Father Weise’s condition becomes available, it will be made public on the Diocese of Juneau website at www.dioceseofjuneau.org and other Diocesan social media sites.

According the Juneau Diocese, Bishop Edward Burns and Father Weise’s family are requesting continuing prayers during this time.
