On Wednesday, June 8, National Public Radio’s Hometown Alaska featured a radio segment about young Alaskan men training for the priesthood. Put together by University of Alaska student Nolin Ainsworth, the segment explores how and why these men made the decision to follow a calling to the Catholic priesthood. Hometown Alaska aired the segment along with live interviews during a statewide broadcast. The show includes interviews with Alaskan seminarians Robert Whitney and Jake Brownlee. Ainsworth put the radio segment portion of the show together as part of his senior project at UAA. This fall, Ainsworth will begin an internship with the Catholic Anchor, the newspaper of the Anchorage Archdiocese.
