Funeral & memorial Masses set for Fr. Weise

The funeral Mass and memorial Masses for Father Thomas Weise have been finalized.

Father Weise, 46, served as a priest for the Diocese of Juneau, Alaska. He died on Dec. 6 after suffering a Nov. 25 heart attack while visiting with family in California for Thanksgiving.

Juneau Bishop Edward Burns and the priests of the Diocese of Juneau will concelebrate a Mass of Christian Burial for Father Weise at Mission San Luis Obispo de Tolosa, in San Luis Obispo, California, on Tuesday, Dec. 15 at 10 a.m. A vigil for the deceased will also be held at Mission San Luis Obispo de Tolosa the evening prior, beginning at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 14.

On Dec. 16, 7 p.m., at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Wrangell, Bishop Burns will preside at a Memorial Mass for Father Weise. On Dec. 17, 7 p.m., Bishop Burns will preside at an additional Memorial Mass at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in Petersburg. Then on Dec. 18 Bishop Burns will preside at a final memorial Mass at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Juneau, beginning at 7 p.m.
