The following events are scheduled for the month of November in the Archdiocese of Anchorage.
Holy Doors to close at Anchorage cathedrals
Marking the end of the Jubilee Year of Mercy, called for by Pope Francis, the designated Holy Doors at Anchorages two cathedrals will ceremoniously close on Nov. 20, the first Sunday of Advent and the feast day of Christ the King.
Newly installed Anchorage Archbishop Paul Etienne will preside over the closing of the door at Holy Family Cathedral during the 9:30 a.m. Mass. Anchorage Archbishop Emeritus Roger Schwietz will preside over the closing of the door at Our Lady of Guadalupe Co-Cathedral during the 9 a.m. Mass.
Other designated holy doors will close at the following parishes on Nov. 20: Blessed Sacrament Monastery in Anchorage at 8 a.m., St. Mary Church in Kodiak at 10:30 a.m., St. Patrick Church in Anchorage at 11:30 a.m., and Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Soldotna at 9 a.m.

For parents looking to give their children a Catholic school education, Lumen Christi High School will host an open house Nov. 17, 6-7 p.m. The event will include an opportunity to enroll students for the start of the upcoming spring semester.
