St. Benedict Church in Anchorage is hosting a six-day mission, Oct. 18-23, with Dr. Bob Schihl, the founder and director of the innovative website CatholicApologitics.org, which offers college-level courses in church history, theology and apologetics. The mission is open to the general public.
Schihl holds a BA in philosophy and classical languages from St. Bonaventure University and advanced degrees in theology and Sacred Scripture from Gregorian University in Vatican City. He currently lives and works from Anchorage where he is helping to raise his granddaughter while teaching at St. Benedict Church and Lumen Christi High School.
In addition to his talks during the weekend Masses, Oct. 18-19, Schihl’s upcoming evening presentations at St. Benedict are open to the public and begin at 7 p.m. The title of the evening talks are as follows:
- Monday, Oct. 20, “Evangelization: You Will Set the Whole World Ablaze”
- Tuesday, Oct. 21, “Catechesis: You Will Know the Truth & the Truth Will Set You Free
- Wednesday, Oct. 22, “Holiness: Get Holy or Die Trying”
- Thursday, Oct. 23, “Prayer: I Will Place a New Heart in You”
