Alaskans to begin 40-day pray campaign outside Planned Parenthood

Alaskans are invited to participate in the international fall prayer campaign of 40 Days for Life. The annual event will begin with a kick-off rally on Tuesday Sept. 22 from 7-8 p.m. The following day, Sept. 23, the peaceful prayer campaign will run from 7 a.m.-7 p.m. for 40 days at the Planned Parenthood abortion clinic at 4001 E. Lake Otis Parkway in Anchorage.

In 40 Days for Life, each fall and spring, pro-life advocates gather outside abortion facilities around the world to peacefully stand vigil, pray for unborn babies and help mothers choose life for their children.

In Anchorage, the vigil takes place in front of Planned Parenthood where abortions are performed – at 4001 and 4115 E. Lake Otis Parkway.

Vigils are set to take place in more than 300 cities this fall.

Since 40 Days for Life began in 2007 the organization reports that there have been 10,331 unborn babies saved from abortion during the prayer campaigns.

In order to sign-up for vigil hours, visit or contact local organizer Phillip De Land at

Those unable to attend the vigil in person are invited to pray and fast for an end to abortion from home.
