Archdiocese of Anchorage-Juneau hires new vice chancellor

The Archdiocese of Anchorage-Juneau announced the hiring of Matt Meggs as its new vice chancellor and director of operations.

In this role, Meggs will support the day-to-day operations of the archdiocese, working closely under the new chancellor and chief operating officer, Father Pat Travers.

Meggs is a graduate of the U.S. Military Academy in West Point, New York. He earned his law degree from Seattle University School of Law.

The new vice chancellor currently serves in the Alaska Army National Guard as an officer of the Judge Advocate Generals (JAG) Corps, holding the rank of major. He is also licensed to practice law in Alaska.

Meggs lives in the Chugiak area with his wife and two children. They are regular parishioners at St. Andrew’s Parish in Eagle River. During his spare time, Meggs and his family enjoy Alaska’s outdoors, as well as gardening, fishing, and listening to baseball.

Archbishop Andrew Bellisario, C.M., asks everyone to join him in welcoming Meggs to the Archdiocese of Anchorage-Juneau.
