Catholic Men for Life, a lay apostolate at Anchorage’s Holy Family Cathedral, has invited all local Catholic men to gather on Saturday, March 19, to peacefully pray for an end to abortion.
The gathering will begin with Mass at 7 a.m. offered by Dominican priest Father Dominic David in the secluded parking area on the west end of 40th Avenue. Following the outdoor Mass, participants will walk over to the sidewalk in front of the Planned Parenthood abortion facility at 4000 Lake Otis Parkway at 8 a.m. for a continuous rosary vigil until 3 p.m. According to organizers the aim is to pray and bear public witness to the value of unborn human life. Participants are invited to take part for however long they can.
“This is a vitally important act of love and compassion. Pray for an end of the killing of innocent people, for conversion of abortionists and families considering abortion, and pray that the Lord will clearly give you your assignment, with the courage to carry it out,” a statement by Catholic Men for Life said. “Fellow Christian men — fathers, brothers, and sons — I ask you to join us in protecting innocent human life on March 19th.
Supported by the Dominican priests at Holy Family Cathedral, Catholic Men for Life gathered at the same location last two years.
