The passing of Sister Arlene Boyd although eliciting sorrow also brought great joy when thinking about her legacy. As a teenager and president of the Archdiocesan Catholic Youth Organization (CYO) in 1969-70, I was blessed to witness her leadership and compassion in her ministry. During my four years in CYO, Sister Arlene was such a breath of fresh air, energy and dedication to the Lord. Because of her example, I chose to attend Gonzaga University where I received two degrees. She was always encouraging and a great mentor. I thank God for having been blessed by her example.
